IES CANGAS DEL NARCEA

Our Secondary school is located in Cangas del Narcea, a small town in the North of Spain. It is a state school centre. There are around 650 students in our school, from 12 to 18, and we are over 70 teachers. We teach Compulsory Secondary Education (four years of ESO, from 12 to 16 years old) When the students finish this stage, they can choose between continuing with advanced secondary levels or going to vocational training. They can follow both ways in our school. The vocational training that we currently offer is related to Health and Social Care, Auto Mechanics and Office Clerk. During the ESO studies, students can join the Bilingual Programme in English. Our school is the only Secondary School in our area, so it plays an important role in the life and education of most of the people.

IIS MATTEO RICCI:

Our school, IIS Matteo Ricci, is a Public Secondary school, in Macerata, The Marches. Students are 14 to 18. Sections include Lyceum (for Economic and Social Studies) and Technical School (for Tourism, Chemistry and Biotechnology, the Environment). There are 1075 students and 110 teachers. The range of subjects includes Humanities, Chemistry, Biology, Art, ICT and others, depending on the sections. Courses are held for CEFR Certifications in English, Spanish, German, French. We were awarded the European Language Label in 2012. We cooperate with the municipality of Macerata and the Sferisterio Opera Festival in various projects: one was awarded by the Goethe Institut, another (an app on the Sferisterio) won a prize offered by the local University. The school has also been cooperating with WWF and several Italian Associations for the promotion of Natural and Cultural Heritage.

Ugale Secondary School is a Public Secondary School located in the North-East part of Latvia. It is attended by about 232 pupils, aged from 7 to 19 years old. They are interested in various afterschool activities, like singing, folk dancing and different crafts. The school plays an important role in the social and cultural context of its terrritory because this school is the only secondary school in the region and is the leader of events and cultural initiatives involving both teachers and pupils of the territory.

ZESPOL SZKOL OGOLNOKSZTALCACYCH:

Zespol Szkol Ogolnoksztalcacych combines Junior High School/ Gymnasium with students aged between 13-16 and Grammar Secondary School / Lyceum with students aged between 16-19. There are 260 students and 30 teachers. The main aim of our school is preparing students for the university entrance exam which is called "Matura". It is located in Orneta, a small town with 10.000 inhabitants in the North of Poland.
